Laska's Grove is a wonderful place for artists.
We find inspiration here and a place for creating.
Our cooperative artists will continue to share their creative journeys with you.
Marcia
"Wilderness is a visual magic shop.
At all scales, from mossy tuft to mountain ridge, the images fill my heart and my photos."
Marcia's work is all about the subtlety and intensity of nature.
Her work is on display at Tamarack, West Virginia's premier artisan gallery and is featured in the recently-published Polymer Clay Creative Traditions by Judy Belcher as well as in Studio PMC.
She is an officer in the National Polymer Clay Guild and a member of the PMC guild and American Craft Council.
Richard
"The word 'Renaissance' means 're-born'.
Every day on this mountain I am reborn, nourished and inspired."
Rich applies a Reinassance viewpoint to his woodwork design and poetry.
He also gives us -- quite literally -- heat, light and water.
When he is not engineering, building, tree planting or habitat developing; he is dreaming of ways to bring his experiences to life for others.
He has published countless articles and won national and international awards for his work in film and publications design.
Ed
"I don't look for beauty in nature.
I just hang around and let it find me."
With family roots more than two centuries deep in these mountains, Ed is both resident philosopher and master of the impossible.
He is Doc Electric.
In Ed's hands, the untamed nature of branches and vines morph into whimsical furniture and found art.
Dawn
"If you ever got lost as a kid you can remember the wonderful feeling of being back in your parents' arms.
Back home.
This mountain gives me that feeling every day I am here."
An impassioned writer, Dawn is chronicling these years in stories, articles and poetry.
She revives the mountain traditions of canning, cidering and wild-gathering.
The fruits of these labors will soon make their way onto our web site.
